Week 2 - 7-1/2 Habits of Learning

I have heard that if you are bored, or want to get through something quickly, it is good to take notes while you listen, because it makes the time go faster. I wanted to flick through all of the slides of the presentations of "7-1/2 habits of successful lifelong learning", so, instead, I took notes. I wrote down the 8 habits on my new stationary I got for Christmas from Anita.

Things I thought:
"Lifelong" - it reminded me of our Partners In Reading Program, where we teach adults reading and writing skills they have missed. They are committed to learning. I can commit to doing this program if they can commit to reading!

"Words you use to describe your self can become real." (Habit #4 - have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner.) So I need to say "I have time for this" because otherwise it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

I need to find a demand for this, rather than just commit for the sake of commitment. I haven't found that "drive" or "absolute" necessity. Good for you, though!
